Kyoto’s pristine streams and lush mountains are home to incredible biodiversity. Our fully private, customizable tour takes you deep into the habitat of the Japanese Giant Salamander（ and various endemic reptiles. Experience Japan’s wildlife like never before with an expert field guide.
Itinerary
Day Tour: The Giant of the Stream (10:00 – 16:00 times may vary by season)
Pick-up at your hotel. We travel to a clear Kyoto stream to observe the Japanese Giant Salamanders (Andrias japonicus) in their natural environment.
Target Species: Japanese Giant Salamanders, Japanese Fire-bellied Newts, Stream Toads.
Night Tour: The Nocturnal Stalkers (18:00 – 23:00 times may vary by season)
Pick-up at your hotel. Explore the forest edges and mountain paths. Using professional lighting, we search for Japan’s most iconic snakes and frogs.
Target Species: Mamushi Pit Viper (Gloydius blomhoffii), Japanese tree frog(Dryophytes japonicus).Japanese Fire-bellied Newt（Cynops pyrrhogaster) and so many more.

Cancel policy
If you want to cancel the trip please tell us at least 1 week before the depature. Or we will request you to cover all the tour fee.
