Throughout the expedition, we will travel across multiple islands in search of the different Habu species and local morphs that inhabit the Ryukyu Archipelago.
From the forests of Okinawa and Amami to isolated volcanic islands and remote subtropical habitats, participants will experience a wide variety of ecosystems while searching for some of Japan’s most iconic reptiles.
In addition to Habu species, the tour also offers excellent opportunities to observe endemic amphibians, cave geckos, odd-tooth snakes, and many other unique species found nowhere else in the world.
Every year, we organize dedicated island-hopping herping expeditions across the Ryukyu Islands, combining intensive field exploration with ethical wildlife observation and photography-focused guiding.
Join us for a once-in-a-lifetime reptile expedition through the wild islands of southern Japan.

Purpose of Our Expeditions
We believe that expeditions — traveling to the habitats where wildlife lives to conduct observation and research — is a vital component of nature conservation efforts. Through this initiative, we aim to create sustainable income opportunities for local communities while raising awareness about the importance of protecting wildlife and their environments.
A portion of the proceeds from our fieldwork activities is dedicated to organizing environmental conservation events and supporting preservation initiatives, thereby creating more opportunities for people to connect with nature.
Our fieldwork brings participants to locations rarely included in standard tourist itineraries, offering rare opportunities to observe elusive and endangered species. In the field, participants are accompanied by local researchers and guides, providing a unique opportunity to learn expert knowledge and field skills directly from professionals.
We are committed to inspiring more people to experience the wonder of nature and fostering a deeper interest in ecosystem preservation through our work.
